Projects & Recurring Revenue Service Agreements - Achieve better success at selling service contracts with projects
Numerous MS Partners have adjusted focus from selling "projects" to selling "managed services." This has not changed, however the fact that prospects and customers typically understand the need for a project (new hardware and/or software) more easily than that of a proactive support and maintenance agreement. The truth is that the customer, and the Partner, will be better served by committing to both. Learn how to weave the service contract (a.k.a. "Managed Services") sale in with any project proposal delivered. Understand how to compel a customer to give the support contract a try. Migrating from SBS 2003 to SBS 2008 on the Same Server Using Microsoft Virtualization Technologies
The SBS 2008 migration strategy has come a long way to ease the process for partners and their customers by preserving the existing domain name, providing for a 21 day co-existence period and simplifying the process. However it requires a move to new 64 bit hardware as a part of the process. So what do you do if your SBS 2003 installation is already on SBS 2008 compliant 64 bit hardware? You could of course perform 2 migrations and end up back on your original hardware but there is another method utilizing virtualization that we will be exploring in this presentation using SBS 2008, Windows Hyper-V and System Center Virtual Machine Manger.
